Eid Meaning

The way Eid begins

According to the history of Islam, the people of Madinah used to observe two festivals called 'Nowruz' in the autumn full moon and 'Meherjan' in the spring full moon from the pre-Islamic period. Which was incompatible with Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) narrated from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he said: What are these two days? The Companions replied, "In the age of ignorance, we used to play sports or rejoice on these two days." Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Allaah has given you two better days to express your happiness instead of the above two days, one of which is Eid al-Adha and the other is Eid al-Fitr. ' Since then, two Eid ceremonies have been celebrated in Islamic law.

Introduction to Eid

The month of Sawal arrives on the first day of the tenth lunar year after the holy month of Ramadan, the most glorious and rewarding month. The curved moon of Sawal carries a bunch of slogans of the joyous festival of the believing Muslims
Eid Eid Eid Eid!
Hey! Happy Eid!
You say you will come
No sleep in the eyes.
In other words, after a long month of holy fasting, on the first day of Sawwal, the festival that the framer of Islamic law has set for Muslims is Eid-ul-Fitr. In the words of our national poet Nazrul - ‘Happy Eid at the end of that Ramadan fast.’ On the other hand, the final month of the lunar year is Jilhaj. The festival that is celebrated by slaughtering animals on the tenth day of this month is Eid-ul-Adha or Eid-ul-Adha. The declaration of both Eids was issued by Alam (peace be upon him) in the year 2 AH.

The significance of Eid-ul-Fitr

The significance of Eid-ul-Fitr is immense in many ways. The words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in this regard are noteworthy. He said, “When the day of Eid-ul-Fitr comes, Allah Almighty is the one who has fasted; He praised the angels about them and said, "O my angels, you used to say! What should a worker who performs his job fully deserve? The angels answered, O Lord! He deserves full remuneration. The angels, my servants, have performed the duty directed towards them, and even went out for the Eid (obligatory) prayers while praying. In this case, I swear by my majesty, glory, high status and high position, I will certainly answer their prayers. Then Allah declares His servants to be pure; You go back, "I have forgiven you and turned your common sins into virtue. The Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “Then they return (to the house) in a state of forgiveness.” (Attargib waat Tarheeb) The virtue and significance of Eid al-Fitr is narrated from Hazrat Saeed Ansari (may Allaah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: On the day of Eid al-Fitr, the angels of Allaah come down to the streets and stand in the streets shouting, “Muslims! Hurry to God. He accepts your small acts of worship and bestows innumerable virtues on you. You have been commanded to fast, and you have observed it properly. You have worshiped Allah even while awake at night. So go and receive from him the reward of your worship. (Tabarani) In the hadith Qudsi, Allah says - "Fasting is for me and I will repay it myself." This announcement of Allah Ta'ala on the day of Eid is a burning proof of it Eid is not only joy, but also worship. In this regard, Hazrat Abu Umama (R) said, "Whoever worships on the night of Eid with faith and waking up for the sake of thawab, his heart will be free from the horrors of the Day of Resurrection." It is narrated from Muaz bin Jabal (R). Heaven is obligatory for one who worships for five nights. The nights are the nights of the eighth, ninth and tenth of the month of Jilhaj, the night of Eid-ul-Fitr and the night of the fifteenth of Shaban, i.e. Shabe Baraat. This is how the greatness, importance and significance of Eid-ul-Fitr can be understood
